Caritas Japan

As a committee within the Catholic Church of Japan, Caritas Japan maintains close contact with Caritas Internationalis and other international institutions. It engages in aid activities at home and abroad, fundraising activities such as “Donation with Love” of the Lenten Campaign, and educational activities to help those in vulnerable positions in Japan live with human dignity. Caritas Japan is a member of Caritas Internationalis, which has its headquarters in the Holy See. Caritas Internationalis, which was approved as a confederation of social service and relief organizations by Pope Pius XII in 1950, is an international NGO (NGO in category 1, General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council) with 165 member countries.
