In accordance with the new Guidelines for Priestly Formation issued by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Clergy on December 8, 2016, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan decided to found this section in the Ordinary Plenary Assembly in February 2019.
This section is responsible for the formation of priests in Japan.
