This committee cooperates with the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.
In 2022, a section was established to promote the operation of the Guidelines for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults in cooperation with all organizations involved in mission and pastoral work in the Church in Japan. A decision of the bishops’ 2025 Plenary session reconstituted the section as a committee.
To foster safety and trust within the Church, the Church supports the protection of the dignity of children, young people and vulnerable adults by providing training, awareness, and counseling systems in cooperation with dioceses, religious orders, missionary institutes and educational institutions.
