This committee, in consultation with the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, aims to implement and promote the spirit and decisions of the Second Vatican Council’s Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, subsequent guidelines of the universal Church, and decisions of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan. It oversees the creation of vernacular liturgical texts adapted to Japan, conducts research and provides guidance on execution. It is involved in translating and revising the Missal and other ritual books related to the administration of the sacraments and sacramentals, creating lectionaries, and compiling hymnals in cooperation with related organizations to deepen awareness of liturgical renewal.
