The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan established this Committee in response to a request from the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization. Setting three years after the Year of Faith as a follow-up period, this Committee aims at investigating first of all the outcome of activities during the Year of Faith in each diocese and a number of challenges facing evangelization, deliberating upon the results of the investigation from various points of view and preparing proposals for the future evangelization of Japan.
