本書は、2009年11月9日に弊協議会より発刊された『カトリック教会の諸宗教対話の手引き 実践Q&A』の英訳版です。
キリスト信者が極めて少ない日本では、カトリック信者がさまざまな宗教の人とかかわり、他宗教の行事に参加する機会も多々あります。その際に疑問や戸惑いを感じることも珍しくありません。とくに日本固有の儀式、習慣、風俗などに精通していない外国籍の方にとっては、難しい判断にぶつかることもあるかと思います。そういった種々の問題に、Q＆Aの形式で分かりやすく答えるのが本書です。英訳版編集にあたっては、理解の助けとなるようイラストなどを適宜補いました。
This book is the English version of “カトリック教会の諸宗教対話の手引き実践Q&A” published by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan on November 9, 2009.
In Japan where the number of Christians is extremely low, Catholics frequently have contact with followers of various religions and attend other religions’ events. We are often puzzled or bewildered on those occasions. It must be especially hard for foreign residents, who are not familiar with Japanese unique rituals, customs, and manners, to make a decision. This book offers clear answers to various kinds of problems in the form of questions and answers. During the English version’s compiling process, several illustrations and others were suitably added to help you understand.
